ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced a cash award of Rs1.5 million for each member of the national hockey team, recognising their performance in the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers.
In a statement, Sharif said the team’s qualification for the World Cup reflected the players’ hard work and commitment, and marked an important step in promoting and revitalising hockey in the country.
“The national team’s participation in the World Cup qualifiers has generated immense enthusiasm among fans,” he added, describing the cash prize as a tribute to the players’ determination.
