ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday strongly condemned Israel’s military aggression against Lebanon and expressed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Lebanese people.
In a telephone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, PM Sharif extended heartfelt condolences for the lives lost in the Israeli attacks and reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Lebanon.
PM Sharif highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between the two nations and assured Salam of Pakistan’s commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also offered to assist in peace efforts in the region.
The two leaders discussed the recent escalation in the Middle East, including Israel-US attack on Iran and retaliatory actions affecting the Gulf states. Both agreed on the urgent need for de-escalation and the restoration of peace.
Prime Minister Salam expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support during Lebanon’s difficult time.
