KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi has formed three monitoring teams under the supervision of his staff officers to enforce the government rates of food items and to assist the magistrates in checking prices.

All the districts have been divided into three regions. Additional Commissioner One Ghulam Mehdi Shah, Additional Commissioner Two Asadullah Khoso and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Sajjad Abro will head the West, South and East regions, respectively. The West Region includes the West and Central District Administrations the South Region includes South, Korangi and Keamari districts, while the East Region includes East and Malir districts.

The monitoring teams have been asked to visit complaint centres, model markets and other shopping centers to augment the Karachi administration’s efforts to provide relief to the citizens.

Complaint centers have been established at the Commissioner Karachi Control Room and in all districts of the city for efficiently responding to the public complaints about non-compliance of the official rates and profiteering.

Citizens have been advised to lodge their complaints about overpricing on 1299 as well and strict legal action will be taken against the over-charging.

According to the details, in Korangi district, the complaints centres have been set up at Liaquat Market, Tanki Market, Shah Faisal Colony No3 Market, Rifaa Aam Shah Faisal Colony No1 Market, Bhattai Colony, Korangi No2 Market, Korangi No3 Market, Babar Market, Korangi No6 Market, K Area Market and Kilo Chowk.

In Malir district, the centres have set up at Vegetable and Fruit Market, Meat Market, B Area Market, Memon Goth Market, Main Bazaar, Kathor, Main Bazaar, Gadap, Main Bazaar, Bhittaibad, Main Market, Bachat Bazaar, Block M Meat Market, Nagan Chowrangi, Khadija Market, Disco Mor and Mor, Power House Sindhi Hotel Water Pump, Liaquatabad Supermarket, Gol Market, Paposh Market and Liaquat Chowk.

In District South, these are at Judia Bazaar, Delhi Colony, Ranchhor Line, Khada Market, and Empress Market.

In District East, the complaint centres have been established at ten locations including Faria Market, Johar Complex, Tariq Commercial Market, Shahabuddin Market, Jamshed Road Market, Fatima Jinnah Colony, PIB Market, Fish Market, Choti Market, Perfume Chowk, and New Dhoraji Market.

In District West, the centres have also been set up at Iqbal Market and Khawaja Gharib Nawaz Market.

In Kemari district, 24 Market, Jackson Market, Bara Board, Mangho Pir Road, and Grex Market are included where the complaint centres have been set up.
