KARACHI: On the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, a Monitoring & Evaluation Cell (MEC) team of the Planning & Development Department, Hyderabad, led by RMEO Shafqat Ali Shah and Engineer Abdul Qayoom Palijo, visited and inspected the scheme titled “Establishment of Secretariat Complex for Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC)” located at Thandi Sarak, District Hyderabad.
The SPSC Secretariat Complex has been completed at a total cost of Rs2,517.43 million. During the visit, the monitoring team thoroughly reviewed the progress and quality of the newly constructed five-storey building, along with Assistant Executive Engineer (AEN) Engr Ramesh Kumar (WS), the contractor, and the consultant’s technical team. The inspection revealed that construction work has been completed and the overall quality of work was found to be satisfactory.
It was further observed that each floor is fully equipped with a comprehensive fire-fighting system, including both water-based and chemical-based fire extinguishers. All technical test reports and scheme-related documents were found available at the site.
After a detailed inspection, the physical progress of the scheme was recorded at 99.9 percent, with corresponding financial expenditure of 99.9 percent. As per the original Administrative Approval, the project was scheduled for completion by the end of February 2026; however, considering the importance of the scheme, its target completion date had been advanced to December 2025. At the current stage, the pace of work and quality standards was found to be satisfactory.
It was also noted that Chairman SPSC Muhammad Waseem personally supervised the completion of the project, showing keen interest to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Commenting on the project, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said, “The Sindh Public Service Commission is a vital constitutional institution responsible for ensuring merit-based and transparent recruitment. The establishment of a modern Secretariat Complex will further strengthen SPSC’s capacity to conduct examinations and recruitment processes efficiently and in a timely manner.”
Shah added, “My government is fully committed to strengthening institutions that uphold merit, transparency, and good governance. Providing SPSC with a state-of-the-art facility reflects our resolve to improve public service delivery across Sindh.”
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the near-completion of the project and directed the concerned departments to ensure that remaining formalities are completed promptly so that the facility becomes fully operational at the earliest.
