LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Friday filed a defamation suit in a city court against opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Moeenuddin Riaz Qureshi.
Moeenuddin in his statement on media alleged that 150–200 paid individuals were brought into the assembly on her behalf on the occasion of the visit of Chief Minister KPK.
The minister claimed Rs 84 million as damages. She submitted video recordings, screen captures, and transcripts as evidence. She argued that the statement caused serious harm to her dignity and reputation. The petitioner asked the court to order compensation and legal costs against the opposition leader Moeenuddin.
