HYDERABAD: Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, and Isra University have agreed to strengthen future cooperation by highlighting the importance of skills development, faculty exchange, and academic collaboration between public and private sector universities of the province, with a special focus on emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

In this connection, Chancellor of Isra University, Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, paid an official visit to Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, where he met with Vice Chancellor SAU, Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal, and held detailed discussions on the prospects of academic, research, and technological collaboration between the two institutions.During the meeting, both sides agreed to initiate faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, and shared skill-development opportunities for students in modern disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

The two universities emphasized that mutual cooperation is essential for promoting interdisciplinary education through the application of advanced digital technologies, particularly in agriculture, environmental sciences, and data-driven decision-making.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor SAU Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal stated that the university is fully committed to modernizing agricultural education through innovation, digital transformation, and international-standard academic partnerships. He added that Sindh Agriculture University is keen to collaborate with reputable institutions like Isra University to enhance research, technology transfer, and skills development.

He expressed confidence that collaboration between the two universities would establish a strong academic bridge, enabling the practical application of AI and GIS technologies to address real-world agricultural and environmental challenges.

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi said that AI and GIS are bringing revolutionary changes in education, research, and industry worldwide, and their integration into agriculture and natural resource management has become a pressing need of the present era. He emphasized that cooperation between Isra University and Sindh Agriculture University would provide students and faculty with enhanced learning opportunities, shared expertise, and access to modern technological facilities. “Through mutual collaboration, both universities can jointly develop skilled human resources capable of applying AI and GIS solutions to contemporary agricultural and environmental issues,” Prof. Dr. Kazi remarked.

Both dignitaries agreed to continue discussions through formal channels to finalize the framework of cooperation. The proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is expected to promote academic exchange, joint educational programs, and advanced research, contributing positively to higher education development and national progress.
