Disputes on imported goods: FBR reconstitutes customs classification body
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reconstituted customs classification committee for resolving customs related disputes on the imported goods for accurate assessment of duties and taxes at the import stage.
The FBR has issued Customs General Order No 01 of 2026 here on Tuesday on methodology for settlement of classification disputes.
According to the FBR’s notification, the Classification Committee shall now comprise of any three Collectors of the South region, as notified by the Chief Collector of Customs (Appraisement-South), under intimation to the Board.
Earlier, classification committee comprised of three members-Collector of Customs Appraisement (East), Collector Appraisement-West and Collector of Customs, SAPT, Karachi.
