Gold shines at a new peak

KARACHI: Gold prices continued Bull Run on Tuesday, setting fresh historic global and local benchmarks, traders said.

Local gold prices reached other all-time highs of Rs 470,862 per tola and Rs 403,688 per 10 grams, up by Rs 8,500 and Rs 7,288, respectively, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.

International gold bullion prices hit new record benchmark of $4,485 per ounce, up by $85 while silver held steady at all-time highs of $69.30 per ounce, it added.

Similarly, domestic silver prices also remained unchanged at Rs 7,205 per tola and Rs 6,177 per 10 grams, according to the association.
