ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belarus on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties with the first briefing session of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) being held at the Parliament House, marking the beginning of structured parliamentary engagement between the two countries.
The meeting was led by Convener of the Group, Natasha Daultana, MNA, while Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belarus, Muhemmed Aejaz, participated virtually and briefed members on the steady improvement in bilateral relations over the past year. He highlighted progress in trade, industry, and government-to-government cooperation, and outlined emerging opportunities in labour mobility, industrial collaboration, and technical exchange.
The session also focused on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy to support enhanced cooperation in education, academic exchanges, scholarships, agriculture, smart technologies, and business-to-business linkages, with members emphasizing the importance of expanding the people-to-people contacts.
In her concluding remarks, Natasha Daultana reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to sustained follow-up, closer coordination with relevant ministries, and proactive parliamentary diplomacy to further strengthen Pakistan–Belarus relations.
The meeting was attended by Members of the Pakistan–Belarus PFG, including Mohammad Usman Badini, Kiran Imran Dar, Ali Jan Mazari, Abdul Aleem Khan, Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani, Naveed Aamir, and Shamaila Rana.
