KARACHI: The inflows of home remittances recorded a notable growth of over 9 percent during the first five months of this fiscal year (FY26), the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported on Tuesday.
Pakistan received home remittance amounting to USD 16.14 billion in July-Nov of FY26 up from USD 14.76 billion in the same period of last fiscal year (FY25). This reflects an increase of 9.3 percent or USD 1.3 billion.
Most major remittance corridors showed improvement except the United States, the SBP data indicates. The United Arab Emirates and European countries recorded the strongest gains.
Remittances from workers at a record high
Remittances from the UAE rose 14 percent to USD 3.36 billion in the first five months, up from USD 2.95 billion a year earlier. Inflows from European countries increased 19.4 percent to USD 2.12 billion during the period. Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances, sending USD 3.9 billion during the first five months of the fiscal year, reflecting a seven percent increase.
In year-on-year terms, home remittances rose 9.4 percent to USD 3.2 billion in November 2025, compared with USD 2.9 billion in November 2024. On a month-to-month basis, however, inflows fell 6 percent, dropping from USD 3.42 billion in October 2025 to USD 3.2 billion in November 2025.
Remittance inflows during November 2025 were mainly sourced from Saudi Arabia USD 753.0 million, UAE USD 675.0 million, United Kingdom USD 481.1million and United States of America USD 277.1 million.
