Atta Tarar slams Imran Khan’s sisters for defaming Pakistan on Indian channels
- Info minister says thousands of non-custom paid vehicles operating in KP
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar launched a scathing attack on the family of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan Sunday, stating that his sisters were “defaming the country” by giving interviews on Indian television channels.
The development comes a day after a “doctored” clip of Naureen Khan’s interview with India Today went viral. The PTI issued a formal clarification, within hours of the clip’s spreading on social media, saying it included AI-generated remarks attributed to Imran’s sister.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, the information minister asked if Naureen paid tribute to Pakistani army personnel who were martyred in Indian attacks or lauded Pakistan forces for the success in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. “They should be ashamed of smearing Pakistan on Indian channels,” he said, adding that Indian channels were providing them platform for they knew that their mentality was against Pakistan.
Tarar alleged the PTI leadership of hypocrisy and corruption, asserting that the political decisions of the PTI founding chairman were often made by his wife, Bushra Bibi, under the pretense of spirituality.
Minister Tarar claimed that the PTI’s entire political strategy was built on “hypocrisy, lies, and slander,” citing repeated false allegations against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He levelled sharp criticism at the PTI’s ruling provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Tarar stated that thousands of non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles were operating in KP, which the provincial government has failed to curb, calling the government’s performance “zero.” He linked the NCP vehicle problem directly to the “political terror crime nexus” in the province.
The minister alleged that the KP government was promoting drug smuggling and that a huge drug cartel existed in the province. He claimed that officials were enriching themselves through illegal practices, noting that the tobacco mafia alone could generate Rs500 billion in taxes if properly regulated.
Tarar accused PTI figures of acting as spokesmen for the Afghan government, linking this stance to the ongoing security challenges and asserting that the party’s collusion with the enemies of the country has been exposed.
He praised the armed forces for successfully rescuing over 500 students during the Wana Cadet College incident, which he said could have been a larger tragedy than the APS Peshawar attack.
He strongly reiterated the severity of the May 9 attacks, claiming that Imran’s three sisters were present at the Corps Commander House leading the mobs, and that the entire plan was designed to “weaken the Army” internally. He concluded by affirming that the military successfully countered the plot and remains capable of responding forcefully to any external or internal aggression.
