UAF organises ‘Farmer Day’

FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) in collaboration with the Punjab Agriculture Extension Department arranged a Farmer Day at Chak No 142, Jhumra, as part of Wheat Campaign 2025 to enhance crop productivity across the province.

UAF students along with agricultural experts visited the said area where they held a gathering of local farmers. Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Ghulam Murtaza attended the event on directives of UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali.

The campaign aims to reach various regions of Punjab to create awareness among farmers about advanced cultivation methods for achieving higher wheat production this year.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ghulam Murtaza said that timely sowing, certified seed, drill swing, use of balanced fertilizers, modern irrigation systems, and modern agricultural technologies can ensure an increase productivity manifold. He said that the university is committed to empowering farmers through research-based solutions and practical training.

He added that farmers can achieve maximum output with minimal resources by using modern techniques to ensure food security and economic stability.
