ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s stance on key regional and international issues is receiving increasing global recognition, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Monday, noting that the country’s foreign policy is active, its diplomatic messaging is being acknowledged worldwide, and its leadership is earning international praise.

Speaking at a debate titled “Pakistan’s Role in a Changing World,” the minister said Pakistan has played a decisive, responsible role in global affairs despite immense sacrifices. He recalled that Pakistan lost 90,000 lives and suffered billions of dollars in economic damage during the fight against terrorism, yet succeeded in preserving its national security and projecting a credible narrative internationally.

Tarar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Deputy Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have been central in presenting Pakistan’s case abroad, leading to significant diplomatic successes. He added that Pakistan gave a firm response to Indian aggression, and the country’s youth exposed Indian misinformation on social media platforms, strengthening Pakistan’s position in the global information space.

He said International financial institutions now acknowledge Pakistan’s improving economic outlook, bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia is expanding, and friendly countries are strengthening ties across trade and strategic sectors. The minister added that even the U.S. President has praised the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, reflecting rising global confidence in Pakistan’s leadership.

Earlier on Sunday, Islamabad’s F-9 Park witnessed a massive public turnout as thousands of families attended the “Uraan Pakistan Family Festival,” demonstrating the nation’s resilience and desire to continue positive cultural activities despite recent security concerns.

Organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the festival drew women, children, youth and senior citizens from Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar visited the venue beforehand, inspecting arrangements, family zones and the main stage, and issuing necessary instructions to organisers.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ensured foolproof security, while district administration and other institutions coordinated closely to facilitate a safe and lively event. Performances by Atif Aslam, Farhan Saeed, Nimra Mehra, Jabar Abbas and Zunieb Zahid energised the crowd, with Shafaat Ali and Sophia Ahmed hosting the show.

Tarar said providing healthy recreational opportunities are a government priority and that the festival sent a powerful message: the people of Pakistan remain united, undeterred and committed to sustaining cultural and social vibrancy.
