Published Updated

KARACHI: Gold prices slumped on Saturday, as world bullion value receded heavily under USD4,000 per ounce, traders said.

The local market saw a tumbling session after the international market lost huge value to bring down gold prices by Rs9,100 to Rs430,662 per tola and Rs7,799 to Rs369,223 per 10 grams.

Citing the world market trading, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said that the bullion price slumped by USD91 per ounce, going down to USD4,083 with silver edging lower by just over USD2, settling at USD51 per ounce.

Tracking international market, domestic silver prices also declined significantly. The white metal fell by Rs209 to Rs5,313 per tola and Rs179 to Rs4,555 per 10 grams, the association added.

It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those fixed by the association officially.
