KARACHI: The Karachi administration has begun its effort to make this year’s ‘National Games’ big success. The Karachi administration has said it will focus on its preparedness and establish strong liaison with officials of the Sports Department, ensuring maximum assistance.

At a high-level meeting held in his office, held in office on Wednesday, the Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi said that it is an honour to host the 35th National Games in Karachi. The Karachi administration will play its best role in holding National Games in a dignified manner and make it memorable event.

He directed the DCs to make their best efforts in this regard and provide maximum facilities and remove encroachments from all the venues of the National Games by November 25.

“Cleanliness arrangements should be improved, and wherever there are complaints of encroachments, priority measures should be taken to eliminate them.”

It was decided that the Deputy Commissioners, along with officers of the Sports Department, representatives of the Olympic Association and organizers, will visit the event venues, review the cleanliness encroachments and necessary facilities and take necessary steps.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Khel Munawar Ali Mahesar, General Secretary of Sindh Olympic Association Ahmed Ali Rajput, Director Sports, Asad Ishaq, Director Sports Commissioner Karachi Office Ghulam Muhammad Khan and other officers.

In the meeting, DC- East, Abrar Jaffer, DC- Centra,l Taha Saleem and DC-Keamari, Raja Tariq Chandio briefed about the arrangements for cleanliness, traffic arrangements and provision of required facilities around the venues of events to be held in their respective districts.

General Secretary of Sindh Olympic Association Ahmed Ali Rajput gave a detailed briefing regarding the organization of the National Games.

It was informed in the meeting that gymnastics competitions will be held at the Physical Government College, where washrooms, electric wiring, lighting and changing rooms need to be repaired and restored.
