LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice, Miss Aalia Neelum, on Wednesday directed police authorities to strengthen security arrangements across all courts in Punjab following the recent act of terrorism outside Islamabad district courts.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, the Chief Justice emphasized that such attacks underscore the urgent need to protect the sanctity of the judicial system. She stressed that the safety of judges, court staff, lawyers, and litigants must remain the top priority of the judiciary.
Justice Neelum instructed the police to identify and address any potential security gaps in the Lahore High Court and district courts, ensuring that all available resources are deployed for foolproof protection.
In compliance with her directives, security measures have been significantly enhanced at the LHC and all judicial complexes across the province. These include modern walk-through gates, metal detectors, full body searches at entry and exit points, and 24-hour CCTV surveillance inside and outside court premises to quickly detect suspicious activity and facilitate swift action. Additional steps have been taken to improve security in parking areas, including secret monitoring and upgraded protocols, ensuring maximum safety and convenience for lawyers and litigants.
