LAHORE: On Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s special directions, revamping and upgradation of Rawalpindi’s largest and historic road, Murree Road, has been completed, as the unkempt and dilapidated Murree Road has been converted into a beautiful green corridor. She noted that a beautiful tennis court has also been built under the bridge on Sixth Road for the citizens, especially the youth.
Paths under and around Sixth Road have been decorated with beautiful plants, flowers and trees, while in the past, these places were garbage dumps. She highlighted that beautiful waiting areas have also been built on Sixth and Seventh Roads for the citizens to sit.
She said that the upgradation of beautiful clock tower at Chandni Chowk had also been completed, while plant and flower beds had been developed on both sides of Murree Road and the metro route. She added that pillars of the metro bridge had also been covered with vines and flowers.
The chief minister said that dust-free garden, decorated with plants and flowers, Murree Road has become a pleasant surprise for the citizens, while beautiful lights at night double the beauty of the Road. She said, “A gift has been given to the beautiful-hearted citizens of Rawalpindi by making Murree Road beautiful and green.”
