KARACHI: Gold market lost its momentum on Friday as world bullion rates dipped close to $3,300 per ounce, traders said.
Edging lower by $7, the international bullion market retreated to $3,302 per ounce, leading local gold prices to fall by Rs700 per tola and Rs599 per 10 grams.
As a result of the drop, gold was now available at Rs348,600 per tola and Rs298,868 per 10 grams, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Domestic and global silver markets maintained stability for another day. The white metal was trading for Rs3,380 per tola and Rs2,983 per 10 grams. World market held steady at above $33 per ounce, the association said.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those fixed by the association.
