Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated on Friday that Pakistan would never succumb to external coercion, vowing to defeat any aggression or threat posed to the country’s sovereignty.

Speaking during a visit to the Command & Staff College Quetta, the Army Chief addressed student officers and faculty members, reaffirming the nation’s steadfast commitment to national defence and the ongoing war against terrorism.

“Pakistan will never be coerced, and any inimical designs aimed at distracting us from our counterterrorism objectives will be comprehensively defeated,” the COAS stated, as quoted by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Paying homage to the martyrs of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, Field Marshal Munir expressed complete solidarity with their families.

He praised the unity demonstrated by the nation under its leadership, describing the people of Pakistan as a “wall of steel” in the face of external threats.

Referring to India’s military posture, the COAS warned of its “increasingly dangerous propensity to use unprovoked aggression” and reiterated Pakistan’s capability to respond across the full spectrum of conflict.

He also highlighted the need for a peaceful and just resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute, which he described as critical to regional strategic stability.

Additionally, he condemned India’s alleged “hydro-terrorism,” terming it unlawful and untenable under international law.

On the internal security front, the Army Chief spoke about the revitalized counterterrorism drive, stating that the campaign against all forms and manifestations of terrorism would be taken to its logical conclusion.

He also pointed to India’s role in sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan.

In his address to the student officers, Field Marshal Munir emphasized the significance of leadership, innovation, and critical thinking in modern military strategy.

He lauded the Command & Staff College for its role in grooming future leaders who uphold the values and professionalism of the armed forces.
