ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Hanif Abbasi has claimed that it has been proved that only Nawaz Sharif can steer the country out of the current multiple crises.

Talking to reporters here, Abbasi said that the “historic” reception given to Nawaz Sharif on his return to the country was “unprecedented.”

“We have never seen such a charged rally with our own eyes,” he said while talking about the PML-N’s Minar-e-Pakistan rally in Lahore on October 21.

To a question, he claimed that Nawaz Sharif is going to become the prime minister for the fourth time following the forthcoming general elections.

He also rejected the impression that Nawaz Sharif’s return could be a result of any deal.

To another query, he said that it is the right of every political leader to talk about the country’s politics and PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif talking about the polls is his right.

Responding to another query about Pakistan Peoples Party’s concerns with regard to a lack of a level playing field, he asked PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to contest the polls, adding that whoever wins the elections, will become the prime minister.

The PML-N leader further said that those involved in the May 9 incident should be punished, adding that they tried to “set Pakistan on fire.”
