PESHAWAR: The Centre for Governance & Public Accountability (CGPA) in collaboration with the Small & Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) organized a consultation session on industrial infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The event was part of the project “Mobilizing Economic Reformers to Keep Critical Civic Space Open in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province,” initiated by CGPA with technical and financial support of Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
Talking to the participants, member of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) and Industrialist Farhad Asfandyar emphasised on reducing government subsidize rate to 50% for 5 years and he highlighted the need to bring awareness among Small and Medium Enterprises on the role of SDIB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority, KPEZD&MC, KPTEVTA, KPEC, ESSI, EOBI and others.
Another official of SCCI suggested that KPEZDMC and SDIB should take actions against real estate groups who have intruded in the industrial estate and are demanding higher prices of 1-4 Kanal plots and above.
On the occasion, a govt department representative shared about their one window facility system however there is a need to digitize all concerned departments and introduce MIS.
The workshop was aimed to review interventions proposed by stakeholders from the SME sector regarding development in Industrial Infrastructure for SMEs and to revitalize the industrial policies to protect industries from stave off.
