Gold prices surge to record high

KARACHI: A surge in gold prices on Tuesday continued to an all-time high in the local market, traders said.

The precious metal was available for record high levels of Rs143600 per tola, after going up by Rs1950. Gold per 10 grams was also traded for an all-time high of Rs123114, up by Rs1672.

On the world market, gold prices were quoted for $1858 per ounce.

Silver was selling for Rs1590 per tola and Rs1363.26 per 10 grams, traders said.
