MUMBAI: Indian banks borrowed 93.30 billion rupees ($1.76 billion) through the Reserve Bank of India's marginal standing facility (MSF) on Dec. 23, up from 61.5 billion rupees borrowed on Dec. 22, the RBI said on Monday, in a sign that liquidity conditions remained tight.
The deficit in the banking system stood at 1.733 trillion rupees on Dec. 23, far above the Reserve Bank of India's comfort level of about 600 billion rupees.
