KARACHI: The Medium Tax Office (MTO) has organized an awareness session on income tax return filing with All City Tajir Ithad Karachi (ACTIK).
According to the details, Abdul Hameed Memon, chief commissioner Inland Revenue and the commissioners of MTO Karachi welcomed the participants. The chief commissioner Inland Revenue presided the session and stressed upon filing of Income Tax return for tax year 2021 by the due date.
Abdul Hafeez Commissioner Inland Revenue Audit-I, MTO Karachi gave a presentation on the importance and benefits of return filling. Hammad Punawala, President all City Tajir Ithad, Rizwan, Abdul Qadir Noorani General Secretary Jodia Bazar, the representatives of Lea Market, Iron & Steel importers and other members of various sectors/associations participated in the session.
The participants discussed various issues regarding their fear and apprehension of coming into tax net, technical issues and other policy matters.
The Chief Commissioner and Commissioner of MTO Karachi responded and explained the quarries rose by them in question / Answer session. It was highlighted that various steps have been introduced by FBR such as issuance of bar coded notices and providing for complaint resolution mechanisms.
The representatives of trade associations assured their full cooperation in filing the Income Tax returns with in due date. The Chief Commissioner and his team also promised to them for maximum facilitation and assistance in the filing of returns and other issues.
