Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is likely to keep Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib’s ungratefulness in mind the next time the latter asks for Pakistan’s help or assistance. The Afghan NSA has made demeaning remarks against Pakistan. The Foreign Minister has rightly said that the Afghan National Security Adviser should be ashamed for maligning Pakistan. How could the Afghan NSA forget Pakistan’s role that it has played in helping achieve stability in Afghanistan.
The world has acknowledged Pakistan’s role in peace in Afghanistan. It’s a sad thing that the Afghan NSA has become a spoiler insofar as the prospects of durable peace in Afghanistan are concerned. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani needs to answer why NSA levelling baseless allegations against Pakistan and its institutions.
