ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved four development projects at the cost of Rs20 billion. The CDWP met with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan in the chair at P-Block Secretariat on Monday.
Senior officials from the federal government also participated in the meeting, while representatives from the provincial governments participated through video conference.
The CDWP approved three projects related to health.
The first project presented namely, “Establishment of 200 Bedded Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College, District Attok, Punjab” at cost of Rs5.82 billion, second project namely, “Establishment of 200 bedded Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College” worth Rs8.1 billion, and third project titled, “Establishment of 200 bedded Mother and Child Hospital Nursing College” valued at Rs5.82 billion were approved with the same changes by the CDWP.
The main objective of these three mother and child hospital projects are to improve access of marginalised communities to quality maternity and immediate newborn care, quality services including medical and surgical services to mother and child to strengthen preventive services such as immunisation, nutrition, and family planning to children and mother of the catchment population.
Another project of the health sector presented in the meeting namely, “Feasibility of NIHD Centre of Excellence in Prevention, Cardiovascular research and Development” worth Rs25.00 million was also approved by the forum.
