Aleem Khan richest Punjab Assembly MPA with assets worth Rs1.5 billion

(Karachi) Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released details of assets owned by Punjab Assembly lawmakers, local media reported on Wednesday.

As per the statistics issued by the ECP, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar owns assets worth over Rs84 million. He also owns two luxury cars, four tractors, and 20 tola gold. Buzdar does not have any business in Pakistan or abroad.

Similary, PTI's Aleem Khan owns assets worth Rs1.5 billion and has a debt of Rs74 million.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi owns assets worth Rs220 million.

Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat has assets worth Rs29.3million, according to the ECP. PTI lawmaker Ejaz Khan owns assets of only Rs2,74000 with no car and gold.

PTI MPA Sajida Yousuf is the poorest lawmaker of the Punjab Assembly with only Rs217 in her bank account. Furthermore, she has never traveled abroad nor owns a car or gold.

Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharif owns assets worth Rs400million.

Earlier, the ECP released asset details of Members National Assembly (MNAs), including the prime minister for fiscal year 2019-20. The net worth of PM's assets is Rs80.6 million. He has 10 properties in Pakistan and inherited a seven-kanal house in Zaman Park, Lahore, valued at Rs40.53 million.

The PM received a 300-kanal house in Bani Gala as a gift. Additional construction-related costs of the house cost him another Rs10.14 million. He has a six-kanal plot in Mohra Noor, Islamabad worth Rs0.5 million, and five inherited plots in Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sheikhupura and Khanewal.

He spent Rs10.19 million to buy two apartments at Shahra-e-Dastoor in Islamabad. He has four goats worth Rs200,000 in total, and Rs50.66 million in a Pakistani bank account.

The PM also has Rs10.99 million in cash. He has four foreign-currency bank accounts. One of his accounts has £518, another one contains $328,760, while the third account has $1,470. He has no money in his euro account.
