Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that he was given a shock when Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif accused two Pakistan Army officers of ousting him as the country's PM.

The PPP leader told BBC that it was Nawaz's own decision of naming Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lieutenant-General Faiz Hameed as being behind everything during his speech at the Pakistan Democratic Movement's (PDM) first rally in Gujranwala.

Bilawal said before the PDM, it was decided that a single institution would not be named, and the term establishment would be used. He continued that he was 'shocked' and that 'he cannot control what Nawaz says'.

However, he said, the PML-N leader would not have taken the names of the army chief and General Faiz without evidence. He said he wanted to meet Nawaz and discuss the matter in detail but could not due to the coronavirus situation.

But, he said he will wait for Nawaz to bring forward evidence supporting his claims. The PPP chairman also clarified that the opposition did not want the military leadership to resign.

Regarding Prime Minister Imran Khan’s promise to make Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) a province ahead of the November 15 elections, Bilawal said that the PM breaks his promises and takes u-turns.

"He promised to make South Punjab a separate province within 100 days of his government. But he did not," Bilawal said. He said that his party would take the constitutional amendment to make GB a province in the parliament itself.
