KARACHI: On Tuesday, on market close, PKR showed mixed behaviour. It went up against USD in interbank market while falling in open market. It also fell against Euro in open market while gaining value against AED and SR.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, on market close, Pakistan Rupee gained 15 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 159.85 and 159.95 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 25 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 159.75 and 160 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR went down by one rupee for buying and 50 paisas for selling closing at 185 and 186.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR went up by 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 43.25 and 43.40 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 5 paisas for selling closing at 42.20 and 42.35 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee stayed unchanged on the buying side while it appreciated its worth on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the open currency market on Tuesday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback did not witness any change throughout the trading session for buying and closed at Rs 159.50 whereas it lost 20 paisas for selling and ended at Rs 160.70 against the opening rate of Rs 160.90.

On the other hand, the rupee failed to sustain its day earlier recoveries against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from the Monday's closing trend of Rs 204.50 and Rs 205.70 to Rs 205.20 and Rs 207.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.

The dollar opened at Rs160.50(buying) and Rs161.60(selling) against last rate of Rs160.40(buying) and Rs161.50 (selling).

It closed at Rs160.50(buying) and Rs161.60(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 115,100(selling) and Rs115,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
