TEXT: The socio-economic relations between Turkey and Pakistan have continued to strengthen over the decades. This time-tested friendship has endured many geo-political challenges and diplomatic situations evolving around the globe. This month, the Pakistani nation will once again join their Turkish brethren, to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the ‘Republic Day of Turkey’, that commemorates the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey - a historical event on 29th October 1923, when the great founder - Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was also elected as the first President of modern Turkey.

Inspired by the great business opportunities emerging in Pakistan and the brotherly relations between these two progressive Muslim nations, Turkey’s largest manufacturing enterprise and a global technology-leader - Arçelik A.?. invested a significant amount of money, to acquire Dawlance - Pakistan’s leading manufacturer of home-appliances. Since this acquisition, Arçelik – the 2nd largest manufacturer in Europe, has continued to make additional investments in Pakistan, as part of its market-expansion and sustainability strategy. Hence, Dawlance-Arcelik highlights the Turkish Republic Day, every year, by orchestrating some vibrant activities.

This large-scale Turkish investment in Pakistan continues to enable economic growth and more employment-opportunities for the diligent and professional workforce, enabling more diversity in the industrial and engineering sectors. Arcelik has also transferred latest technologies to Dawlance, for enhancing the capabilities of Research and Development Centres in Pakistan, while nurturing more energy-efficient technologies to promise environmental sustainability. This resourceful collaboration has enabled the development of innovative products for the future, to exceed the customers’ expectations of performance, reliability and convenience, delivered by electronics and home-appliances.

Globally, Arcelik employs a total workforce of 30,000 people, in its 18 manufacturing facilities, located in; Turkey, Russia, Romania, China, South Africa, Thailand and Pakistan. Gaining great advantages from this international outreach, Dawlance’s export business has also expanded tremendously, as its products are now being sold in several European, Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

This collaborative venture is also encouraging broader economic-collaborations and inspiring other Turkish organizations to recognize the opportunities and invest in Pakistan. Dawlance-Arcelik is contributing generously towards social-development to enable better health, education and wellbeing for the Pakistani masses. Fresh vistas are being explored for cohesive ventures and achieving new milestones and higher standards of quality, wellbeing and prosperity.

The national leaderships and citizens of Turkey and Pakistan have a strong bond and a commitment to reach-out and serve more markets internationally. Both countries have a strategic vision to collaborate, add more value and play a stronger role in the global community. As the government of Pakistan is also focused on ensuring ‘ease of doing business', many Turkish enterprises have appreciated the conducive business environment in Pakistan, especially on the ‘Turkish Republic Day’, when all citizens of Pakistan are eager to express their delight and convey felicitations to their brotherly nation.
