KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 276,085 tonnes of cargo comprising 181,519 tonnes of import cargo and 94,566 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargos of 181,519 tonnes comprised of 104,401 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,051 tonnes of bulk cargo; 3,906 tonnes of sugar; 12,505 tonnes of DAP and 27,262 tonnes of wheat and 30,394 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 94,566 tonnes comprised of 67,722 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,344 tonnes of clinkers and 12,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

There were nine ships namely Cosco Europe, Hyundai Jakarta, AS Roberta, Ever Dainty, Cosco Europe, Wah Hai-611, MT Quetta, Da An and Chang Hang Guang Rong carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were six vessels viz. AS Roberta, Botany Bay, Ever Dainty, X-Press Bardsey, Esperanza-N and Deneb Leader carrying containers and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.

There are two ships namely Botany Bay and Deneb Leader carrying containers and vehicle respectively expected to sail on Monday.

There are six vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, MT Lahore, MT Karachi, Al-Adaliah, Summit Africa and Rana carrying containers oil tankers, mogas and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Monday while seven vessels viz. Ulanga, OEL Kedarnath, Southampton Express, MT Shalamar, Green Belt, Ionic Storm and Marmoratai carrying containers, oil tanker, white spirit, clinker and general cargo respectively are expected due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 174,317 tonnes comprising 133,752 tonnes of import cargo and 40,565 tonnes of export cargo including 3,522 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 133,752 tonnes includes 35,667 tonnes of coal; 13,365 tonnes of palm oil; 15,000 tonnes of soyabean; 43,000 tonnes of gas oil; 1,500 tonnes of LPG; 1,864 tonnes of chemical; 1,003 tonnes of steel coil; 1,500 tonnes of LPG and 26,353 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 40,565 tonnes includes 40,565 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 3,522 containers comprising of 1,387 containers import and 2,135 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There was one ships namely Xin Hong Kong carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while four ships namely MOL Grandour, Zante, Glory Harvest and Nave Jupiter carrying containers, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of nine ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, steel coil, coal, chemical, soyabean, LPG, gas oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as nine vessels viz. Markel Cooper, Star Altair, Sea Brave, Epic Bermuda, Tomson Gas, Gas Zeus, Colar Celsius, Khair Pure and Ploutos carrying coal, soyabean, cement, LPG, LNG, mogas and gas oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were three ships viz. Maersk Bentonville, MSC Tomoko and Colar Celsius carrying containers and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday. There was one ship namely Maersk Bentonville carrying containers due to arrive on Monday while two ships namely MSC Pina and Maersk Santosa carrying containers are due to arrive on Tuesday.
