Kenya's shilling edges down due to demand from importers

At 0801 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 108.60/80 against the dollar, compared with Wednesday's close of 108.55/75.

NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling inched down on Thursday as demand from energy and merchandise importers exceeded supply from tourism, remittances and exporters in the horticulture, tea and coffee sectors, traders said.

At 0801 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 108.60/80 against the dollar, compared with Wednesday's close of 108.55/75.
