KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani on Tuesday appealed to religious scholars for playing their role in promoting interfaith harmony. The administrator was addressing a meeting held to review arrangements for Rabiul Awwal at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation building.
Representatives of different organizations including Muhmmad Yahya Attari, Saleem Qadri, Dr Jameel Rathore, Moulana Akbar Dars, Muhammad Hassan Masoodi, Abbas Badami, Syed Akbar Shah Hashmi, Dr Feroz ud din Rehmani, Allama Zuhair Abidi, Mufti Muhammad Naveed Abbasi, Muhammad Yaqoob Attari, besides KMC officials were present on the occasion.
"We have ensured team work to uplift infrastructure and gave priority to roads sector, footpaths and installation of street lights. Measures are being taken for cleanliness and drainage with assistance of respective district administrations. The administrator welcomed all the participants and said the month of blessings is just about to start. Many processions are held in Rabiul Awwal and attended by large number of people.
