HAMBURG: South Korea's largest animal feed maker Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) purchased an estimated 206,000 tonnes of corn expected to be sourced from South America in an international tender which closed on Wednesday, European traders said.

It was said to have been purchased in three consignments all at $239.80 a tonne c&f plus a $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading.

The tender had sought up to 207,000 tonnes sourced from optional origins for arrival in South Korea in January and February 2021.

The first consignment of 68,000 tonnes is for arrival in South Korea around Jan. 15 and was said to have been sold by trading house Cofco.

Shipment from South America is between Nov. 18 and Dec. 7.

The second consignment of 69,000 tonnes is for arrival around Feb. 15 and was said to have been sold by Cargill. Shipment from South America is between Dec. 19 and Jan. 7.

The third consignment of 69,000 tonnes is for arrival around Feb. 25 and was also sold by Cargill. Shipment from South America is between Dec. 29 and Jan. 17.

NOFI also bought 59,000 tonnes of soymeal from South America in a separate tender on Wednesday.
