(Karachi) Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s bail plea was dismissed because he failed to satisfy the court in money-laundering case.

Addressing a press briefing in Islamabad on Monday, he said that the court had turned down his petition for bail in corruption cases filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau.

"Shehbaz failed to answer the questions asked to him and could not present any evidence in his support," he said.

Regarding Maryam Nawaz's press conference, he said that the PML-N consider itself above the law. “Their leaders consider it an insult to appear before the law or any institution.”

Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said that Shehbaz and his party lost the legal battle today. "The court turned down his bail plea in the light of evidence against him," he said.

He pointed out that the PML-N president had been involved in “organised money laundering.” He said the opposition leader made assets in the name of his children and servants.

So if it is a court decision then why he had to explain it, and why another minister Fawad Chaudhry is calling it a good thing
