KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Dr Iftikhar Shalwani said roads development and cleanliness would be the top priority in his tenure. Speaking with the members of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), Shalwani said in Karachi package road development is the first attraction of investors. He said a comprehensive map of Karachi would be prepared and all the streets and roads would be named after legendary people of the city.
He announced that 3000 road of Korangi Industrial Area would be named after KATI patron-in-chief S M Muneer. He also announced to include maintenance and development of road in sector 15 in Karachi package.
The administrator also welcomed the pilot project proposal of former president KATI Zahid Saeed regarding urban foresting. KATI president Sheikh Umer Rehan said the biggest problem is land grabbing in Meharn Town and special powers should be granted to Administrator Korangi Shahryar Gul Memon to resolve the problem.
Shalwani directed administrator to demolish remaining of GTS in EBM causeway and order to close the area for any kind of dumping once for all. He also welcomed the proposal of Urban Foresting. A multimedia presentation regarding devastated road and sewerage system of sector 15 and 23 was also given to the administrator.
