(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government will not bow down to blackmailing tactics by opposition and the process of accountability will continue.

He said this during a meeting with Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan, who called on him at his office in Islamabad on Monday.

Imran said that all state institutions are on the same page and the nation stands united with them. He added the government will not succumb to any pressure and will continue to expose the corrupt mafia.

Regarding former premier Nawaz Sharif’s speech in the APC, the PM said the speech was part two of ‘Why I was ousted”.

Meanwhile, the meeting discussed the current prevailing political situation in the country and matters related to the new legislation.

On September 21, former premier Nawaz Sharif said during the APC that his fight is against "those who selected Imran Khan". He said that the "incompetent" PTI-led government has taken U-turn on every issue.

He said the democratic systems around the world follow the same principle. When public votes are not respected and the verdict is decided even before the elections, then we can guess how the people of this country are deceived.

Nawaz Sharif said former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani once pointed to "a state within a state" in Pakistan. It is saddening that the situation has escalated to a state above the state. This parallel government illness is the root-cause of our problems, he stated.

He also criticized National Accountability Bureau's performance, saying NAB has become ineffective and is being used to take political revenge. He said the NAB chairman only acts on revenge policy.
