(Karachi) In a bid to facilitate the consumers, the government has decided prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged for next 15 days, media reported on Tuesday.

A statement issued by Finance Ministry stated that the fuel prices for remaining 15 days of September will not be changed. It added that from now on, the prices of petroleum products will be adjusted after every 15 days.

The new prices would remain in effect in the country from September 16 to 30.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan took the decision to not increase fuel prices in wake of the destruction from widespread rains across the country, especially Karachi where normal life came to a standstill. Imran stated that the citizens should not bear burden of price hike in hour of crisis.

The federal government will not increase fuel prices as people are already going through difficult times due to coronavirus and recent rainfalls and floods across the country, the PM said.
