Huge quantity of betel nuts seized

KARACHI: Directorate Intelligence and Investigation (DI&I), Customs, Karachi has seized substantial quantity of betel nuts worth in millions with the assistance of Mangopir police.

According to details, the action was taken on a tip-off which revealed that some unscrupulous elements were planning to transport betel nuts in the city from Hub, Balochistan.

Reacting of this information, a team of ASO of DI&I along with Manopir police intercepted a truck at Hub River road.

The Directorate during thorough search recovered 11220 kiligrams of betel nuts worth Rs 8.97 million.

Consequent upon recovery, a case has been registered against the driver. Further investigation is in progress.
