Beating up of sessions judge: FIR against MPA's husband, driver registered

ISLAMABAD: The capital city police on Monday registered a case against the husband of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s member of provincial assembly (MPA) Abida Raja, and his driver for beating up an Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Jahangir at a petrol station.

The Secretariat Police Station registered a first information report (FIR) on the complaint of Additional Sessions Tariq Jahangir.

Jahangir in his written application said that on September 13, he came to the petrol station located at the Constitution Avenue, opposite Foreign Office for fuelling up his car.

Meanwhile, a Land Cruiser bearing registration KA-004 reached there, and two persons including Chaudhry Khurram husband of MPA Abida Raja, and his driver disembarked from the Land Cruiser, and started beating him. He said as a result, he received multiple injuries on different parts of his body including his head.

He said when the accused continued punching and thrashing him, he opened aerial firing through his licensed pistol in his self-defence.

He requested registration of an FIR and action against both the accused as per law. Police sources said the Secretariat police arrested Bilal driver of Khurram but Khurram was still at large.
