PESHAWAR: ANP's president, Asfandyar Wali Khan has termed ongoing intra-Afghan talks as welcoming and expressed the hope that the peace process would prove result-oriented. In a statement issued here from Bacha Khan Markaz on Sunday, he said that war is no solution to any problem and Afghan soil had already borne decades-long war.

The ANP chief said that they had always struggled for peace and believes that solution to all problems laying on table talks. Afghan war, he said, had not only affected Afghanistan rather the whole region.

The veteran Pakhtoon nationalist stressed for beginning of peace with truce to guarantee durable peace and development of the region. He said during negotiations, the result of 40 years long war should also be taken into consideration.

Asfandyar Wali Khan termed end to war inevitable as it is not only crucial for Afghanistan rather for the peace of the whole region and all stakeholders including Pakistan should ensure its success.

He said that stakeholders should set aside their own ego and take decision while keeping in view the public interest to think of the future of the nation. He said that the elected government of Afghanistan is the representative of Afghans and decisions should be taken on the wishes of the people.

He said for the achievement of the goal of peace, Afghanistan has to show maximum responsibility as positive results of the negotiations would open the doors of progress and development for the whole region and would also enable the people to take a sigh of relief.
