LAHORE: While according to the World Bank report, about 64 percent of Pakistanis are still deprived of safe drinking water, Sarwar Foundation is providing clean drinking water to 2 million people on daily basis.
As a result of non provision of clean drinking water, 20-40 percent of patients in hospitals suffer from water-related diseases such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery, and hepatitis. This is an issue that needs to be addressed urgently as it affects a large number of the population in our country, vice-chairperson of Sarwar Foundation Perveen Sarwar, said. Talking to media on Saturday, she said that 20 water filtration plants have been installed with collaboration of Al-Khair Foundation. Further, 10 plants will be installed by October. "Our aim is to meet the target of 2.2 million people by the end of 2020," she said.
