ISLAMABAD: Senator Rehman Malik on Friday filed an application with station house officer Aabpara Police Station to register a First Information Report (FIR) against US blogger Cynthia D Ritchie and others.

In his application, Malik said that the allegation of rape against him had been widely propagated in the local and the international media by Ritchie through her tweets, posts and videos on the social media, and interviews at various TV channels.

However, she had been changing her statements at different times and at different forums. The allegation leveled by the US blogger is baseless and it is aimed to pressurize the senator and damage his image.

She not only tried to obstruct in discharging of his duty in the capacity of Chairman Standing Committee on Interior but also tried to intimidate and threaten him of dire consequences.

Malik said that he was collecting evidence against those people who had facilitated Ritchie. Ritchie is illegally living in Pakistan and the Ministry of Interior had asked her to leave the country; therefore, an FIR against her should be registered.
