Legislators and party leadership: PTI discusses strategy to make contacts more effective

ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday held thread-bare discussion on the strategy to make contacts between the parliamentarians and the party leadership more effective.

In the second meeting of the PTI Reconciliation Committee for Parliamentarians chaired by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the committee said that it was decided that extraordinary steps needed to be taken to organise the party on modern lines across the country as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Qureshi stressed the need to enhance working relationship among party leadership and its elected members through the Reconciliation Committee for Parliamentarians. The committee was constituted for the resolution of disputes among the parliamentarians and between the party's hierarchy and parliamentarians.

The purpose of the committee was to make effective coordination and mediate between the party leadership and the parliamentarians. A senior leader privy to the development said that committee would make a modus operandi to have effective representation of party lawmakers in the policy and decision making of the government.
