LAHROE: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that international tender of ML-1 project will be issued on the 12th of this month and Pakistan Railways will enter into a new era after completion of this project. He described ML-1 as a wide range of infrastructure development project to uplift Pakistan Railways.
While talking to reporters here on Saturday at Railways Headquarters, he further said that in the first phase, single track of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) would be laid down and work on double track would be started after completion of the single track. The KCR single track will be completed till September 30. The orders of the honourable Supreme Court will be followed with spirit and it would be completed within stipulated time, he added.
When asked he said that work on Hassan Abdaal railways junction will be completed soon because this railways station has unique importance due to Sikh community and Gurdawara Punga Sahib. He claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Hassan Abdaal railways station in the last week of this month.
The task of transportation of imported wheat had been handed over to the Pakistan Railways by the Cabinet, he maintained. The task of transportation of imported Euro-5 Diesel will also be entrusted to Pakistan Railways, he claimed.
