LETTER: That Israel-UAE deal is US President Donald Trump coup is a fact. In other words, Trump has taken a meaningful step to legitimize all the illegal actions of Israel against Palestinians. According to the White House, this 'dramatic' breakthrough means less American troops will have to be in the Middle East.
This is, however, a blatant lie. This development, in my view, will lead to an unprecedented surge in the number of US troops in various parts of Gulf in due course. The US target will be Iran. Not only has the UAE facilitated the US in a big way through its deal with Israel, it has also caused immense harm to the Arab or Palestinian cause. The oppressed Palestinians have already rejected Trump's 'Vision of Peace' for the Middle East.
