LONDON: European stock markets rallied at the start of trading on Tuesday following strong gains in Asia.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index grew 0.9 percent to 6,107.75 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index jumped 1.0 percent to 12,816.19 points and the Paris CAC 40 gained 1.1 percent to 4,962.10.
