KARACHI: On Wednesday, Pakistan Rupee continued its fall against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also mimicked yesterday's behaviour against other major currencies in open market and exhibited a decline.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 40 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168 and 168.20 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 50 paisas for buying and 60 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.30 and 168.80 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 50 paisas for buying and one rupee for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 196.50 and 198.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.30 and 45.60 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 44.30 and 44.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee continued declining trend for the second consecutive day against the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Wednesday.

According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed for another day in the market which helped its further appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 168.00 and Rs 169.20 against the overnight closing rates of Rs 167.50 and Rs 168.60 respectively.

Similarly, the rupee also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 217.50 and Rs 219.00 against the Tuesday's closing trend of Rs 216.50 and Rs 218.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened Rs167.80 (buying) and Rs 167.90(selling) against same last rate.

It closed at Rs167.80 (buying) and Rs 167.90(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 123,400(selling) and Rs 123,250(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
