ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's army chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said on Friday that any speculation that the military was planning a takeover was misleading.
An army statement quoted General Kayani as telling the troops that the military will continue to support democracy in Pakistan, where a “memo” accusing the country's generals of plotting a coup has raised tensions with civilian leaders.
