LISBON: Portuguese consumer prices fell 1 percent in January from the previous month when inflation was zero, due mainly to seasonal clothing and footwear sales, the National Statistics Institute said on Monday, confirming its flash estimate.
Still, inflation clocked 1 percent when compared to a year earlier. The second reading was revised from 1.1 percent in the flash estimate.
In the 12 months through the end of January, inflation totaled 1.3 percent, slipping from 1.4 percent for all of 2017.
